Budapest

 Budapest

Budapest, Hungary's capital is a vibrant city having rich history and magnificuent buildings. It's 19th century chain bridge over the River Danube connects the hilly Buda district and Flat Pest. 

Travelled to Budapest from Vienna takes about 2.5 hours travel. Checked into a hotel with a beautiful view to parlaiment, a perfect location near to Fisherman's Bastion. 
Super hungry and wanetd to try already the hungarian's cusine - Paprika chicken (pictures will be to the end.)
 


1. Gellert Hill / Citadella

Citadella is a hungarina word for Citadel. Exlplore the Citadella fortess on the top of the Gellert Hill. Its a beautiful walk through the woods and capture amazing views of flat area pest over the river Danube as well the beauty of Gellert Cabe , Liberty statue..

Minimalist statue, erected in 1947, commemorating those who lost their lives for the country.

Lush, low-lying hill with walking trails & playgrounds, plus caves & a historic fort at the top.

2. Buda Castle

Buda Castle is a historical complex and palace of hungarain kings. The Castle museum visit gives the information on hungaran kings from the middle ages till the world war II and even the reconstruction and modernization. 

Tip : On every Friday' of the week, visit to castle museum is free.

One can enjoy nice coffee or food at the restaurents in the vicinyt of the castle complex enjoying the amazing views of Budapest and river Danube.

Enjoyed a nice coffee on a perfect drizzling rainy weather at the castle. 


That's the end of the first day - having bagged enough memories from the hungarain place and had enough laughter. Enjoyed the day thoroughly ❤

First picure at the parliament when started the day and on the way back to the hotel captured amazing view of lit parliament during the night across the river Danube.


3. Hero's Square 

Hero's Square is surronded by two main building - Museum of fine Arts on left and Palace of Art on right. It is major square in Budapest with the iconic memorial monument of important leaders of hungary and an unknown tomb of a soldier.



4.Vajdahunyad Castle

An amazing place with great atmosphere with a small lake and a beautiful chapel. There a huge park around and a place to relax sitting on a beach charis and soak oneself in the sun enjoying the views of castle from the otherside of the lake.

5. St. Stephan's Basilica

It is named in the honour of the Stephan, the first king of Hungary. The interiors of the church is very well decorated.

Sisi was obsessed with her beauty and her perfect figure and taking care of her body, resulting in anorexia. Her very liberal ideas, her call for a republic structure and her effort for the poor and troublesome made her very popular with the Austrian people. 

6. Dohany street Synagogue

It is the largest synagogue in the Europe seating about 3000 members. 

Interiors are with geometric murals and it is the only synagogue with pipe organ and a cemetry.

In memory of those who had died, there is a memorial by the sculptor, Imre Varga, depicting a weeping willow with the names and tattoo numbers of the dead and disappeared just behind the Synagogue, in the Raoul Wallenberg Holocaust Memorial Park.

7. Parliament Building


Gothic Revival–style edifice with lavishly decorated rooms, plus a visitors' center.

Museum of ethonography - Huge collection of items about life in Hungary & the east of Europe in the 19th & 20th centuries.



The Kossuth Memorial is dedicated to former Hungarian Regent-President Lajos Kossuth in front of the Hungarian Parliament Building. 


TIP :  take the tram no. 2 and relax and enjoy the tourist attraction along the river Danube.

Walking through randomly thorugh the streets and a short visit through the central market hall.

Restored neogothic hall for traders with grocery produce on the ground & souvenirs on the 1st floor.


After the long ride in tram no.2 , its time to look for some delicious dinner.I wanted to eat Thai and my friend never ate crab till date. we decided to try out crab delicacy and trust me , its a bookmark place to taste the Thai delicacies.

After having delicious dinner, we have decided to take a short visit again to parliament to enjoy the beauty of the night lit building under the full moon sky.




Yet times, Food is an emotion to me. Souls filled in with beautiful memories and hunger satiated with delicious food and its a perfect way to end the second day in Budapest. Enjoyed a chill breeze on the way back to hotel. ★⛪

Day-3 in budpaest - took it slow and easy enjoying the beautiful views of building from room balcony,  had late breakfast and headed to visit Fisherman's Bastion.

8.  Fisherman's Bastion

It is one of the unique monumnets in Budapest and offers look out terraces.

Some interesting impressions clicked while strolling through the streets from Fisherman's Bastion to Buda Castle. 





Accidently bumped into an interesting place to have lunch. The interiors are themed like in Jungle book with Kaa, a real one though :) ☺

Yummy Chicken Breast with Gouda Cheese and salmon Steak with Potatoes.


Enjoyed this awesome food in such an incredible crazy ambience. Now, is time to just relax (may be a short nap under a blue sky ;)). Unfortunately day is not very sunny and decided to take bus ride to Margaret Island. 

It's worth to take a visit to Margaret when there is an ample time and to get some fresh clean air and to watch water fountains and ofcourse just to take a stroll in the greenery.
